Lyon’s French striker Alexandre Lacazette, one player wanted by Wenger
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, searching for his first league title in over a decade, has promised to keep spending big this summer to secure a league title – but only and only if he finds the right players.
So far, the Frenchman has already signed three new players this summer, including Swiss international Granit Xhaka for £30m. It is currently the highest individual fee paid out by any English club in close season. However, Man Utd could surpass that and also break the world record if they succeed in signing Paul Pogba from Juventus.
After playing a draw against French club Lens on Friday, Wenger is under pressure to add new players. “We are very active and if we find the right candidates, we will spend the big money,” Wenger assured.
Reports have linked Barcelona’s Arda Turan, Lyon striker, Alexandre Lacazette and Mattias Ginter of Borussia Dortmund with a move to Arsenal. However, Wenger stubbornly refused to comment on the reports. “! wouldn’t like to comment on names because after, if we don’t get them, people ask why.”
