The Ogun State Police Command has announced the arrest of the fleeing so-called Pastor Francis Taiwo, of the Key of Joy Celestial Church, Ajibawo, Atan-Ota, Ogun State, who chained his 9-year-old son for weeks.
Public Relations Officer of the Command, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the suspect, originally from Benin Republic, was arrested today with the assistance of his church members.
Taiwo had vanished since police and officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC rescued his son, Korede from his inhuman treatment.
The victim’s stepmother had earlier been arrested by the police who announced that the malnourished boy will be handed to the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare for further rehabilitation.
