German international Leroy Sane is undergoing his Manchester City medical after arriving in Manchester yesterday, his club Schlake 04 confirmed in a tweet.
He is expected to cost City an initial £31.2m, which may rise to £46.5m as a result of add-ons in the deal – these were Schalke’s demands according to BILD newspaper.
City’s new manager, Pep Guardiola is a huge admirer of the new rising star of German football and had followed his impressive progress while he was manager at Bayern Munich. Guardiola had by every opportunity heaped praises on Sane.
The fast forward made the last of his four international appearances for the world champions as a replacement in last month’s 2-0 defeat to hosts France, when he dazzled for the last 11 minutes of the semi-final of Euro 2016.
His club, Royal Blues of Gelsenkirchen, said that he is expected to sign a five-year deal with The Citizens.
