After a failed clumsy attempt at appointing former Olympic Lyon manager, Le Guen as Super Eagles coach, the Nigeria Football Federation has made a second try by selecting former Girondnis Bourdeaux defender, Gernot Rohr of Germany to manage the Super Eagles. The NFF President Amaju Pinnick just confirmed the development.
Pinnick said the German, who is currently working on development programmes for the German Football Federation, will arrive in Nigeria on Saturday.
He is expected to watch the league match between Ikorodu United and Sunshine Stars on Sunday in Lagos.
Pinnick said, “We are just tying up the little details left to be handled. The work started quite a while ago but there was the need to wait until everything firmed up before making it public.”
Rohr will officially be presented to Nigerians in Abuja on Monday.
The 63 year-old coach won three league titles with Girondnis Bordeaux as a player. He has also coached Burkina Faso.
