After about a decade of bidding, building, hoping and shivering, the most crisis-ridden Olympic Games in history was kicked started last night with a glittering opening ceremony at Rio’s iconic Maracana Stadium. At the end Brazil lived up to its promise that it wanted to put up a show for the world. And they did exactly that, without any hitch.
Gisele Bündchen stole the show as she graciously showcased her beauty walking a seemingly never ending walk-way to the tune of bossa nova jazz classic, “The Girl from Ipanema.” The entire world glued their eyes on the famous supermodel.

Viewers were flabbergasted when she emerged out of the darkness wearing a dazzling, slinky gwon, designed by Brazilian designer Alexandre Herchcovitch . Gisele’s floor-length gown glittered from every angle, with its gold sequins reflecting the light as she turned the Summer Games into her own show.
The real action starts today with 12 gold medals expected to be won in Women Rifle, Cycling and Swimming.
