Teen shooter Ginny Thrasher has won the first olympic gold at the Rio Games and the first for her country. She pulled off an upset in the women’s 10-meter air rifle event.
Thrasher. 19, beat silver medalist Du Li in the final round. Yi Siling of China settled for bronze.
Thrasher, an NCAA champion at West Virginia, is competing in her first Olympics.
