IPOB Mocks MEND As “Movement For Enslavement Of Niger Delta” As War Of Words Between The Two Groups Escalates

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has mocked the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) by calling it “Movement for the Enslavement of the Niger Delta”, as the war of words between the two groups escalates.

Reacting to MEND’s accusation that IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu secretly accepted to renounce Biafra to secure his release, IPOB said MEND is living in denial of the purpose for which it was formed and has no idea of what freedom fighting is.

In a statement signed yesterday by Chika Edoziem of its Europe wing, the pro-Biafra group lambasted MEND as a group of merchants whose stock in trade is to sell the birthright of the Biafran people in the mainland and the riverine areas for a pot of porridge.

It said MEND does not know what honour is, unlike IPOB, which is driven by a clear ideology and the quest for the restoration of the sovereignty of Biafra nation, asserting that it cannot be compromised nor watered down in any form or shape.

IPOB made it clear it cannot give up on its goal just to secure the so called freedom for its detained members, including Nnamdi Kanu, as proposed by MEND.

The statement reads, “This movement (MEND) is back to what it does best having obviously exhausted the blood money they made through kidnappings, murder and accepting amnesty from their slave masters for the crimes they committed against Biafran people.

“Wonders shall never end. How can the Movement For The Enslavement Of The Niger Delta ever imagine that the Indigenous People of Biafra led by “Onyendu” Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will throw its honor to the dogs by allowing itself and its honorable objective of securing the freedom of the Biafran people be tainted by group of murderers and self acclaimed criminals?

“The indigenous people of Biafra IPOB under the leadership of “Onyendu” Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is a movement propelled by a clear ideology and the quest for the restoration of the sovereignty of Biafran Nation cannot I repeat cannot be compromised, cannot be watered down in any form or shape and cannot be exchanged by your so called “freedom”.

“The indigenous people of Biafra IPOB have seen groups like you who masquerade as champions of the interest of the Biafran people but are in reality instruments at the hands of the enemy.

“It is very obvious from their paid advert that the Movement for the Enslavement of the Niger Delta has no clue of what the indigenous people of Biafra IPOB under the leadership of “Onyendu” Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is all about. We are not a secret society. Transparency is our watchword we do not enter into secret agreements or negotiations with acclaimed criminals and enemies of the Biafran people.

“The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) led by “Onyendu” Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will not allow itself to be distracted by irritating house flies and publicity seeking agents of enslavement of the Biafra people. Our focus is total freedom of our people from the contraption called Nigeria, our objective is the restoration of the sovereignty of the Biafran nation and our determination is set in stone.”
