Germany’s Nils Petersen (right) celebrates scoring his side’s second goal with Philipp Ma
Germany’s U23 football team have beaten Nigeria’s so-called U23 Dream Team VI 2-0 at Arena Corinthians, Sao Paulo to set up a final clash with host Brazil.
Nigeria went down without putting up a fight, playing mainly uncoordinated and at some point looked like they were hoping for a help from above.
Lukas Klostermann and Nils Petersen scored in the 9th and 89th minutes to tear to shreds the “wonder bag” called Dream Team VI.
Despite shabby preparation and arriving only six hours to their opening group match against Japan, the Nigerian team had surprised everybody by reaching this far.
