Buhari Should Sack Dalung While He Is Still In Brazil

Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Solomon Dalung

If President Muhammadu Buhari is really a leader who is striving to bring change to Nigeria, Checkpointcharley recommends sacks sports minister, Solomon Dalung while he is still in Brazil to register his disgust and that of Nigerians over Dalung’s shabby treatment to athletes who are representing the country in the Rio Olympics.

Dalung, desperate to clear his mess, today told Punch the ministry is refunding all athletes’ extra personal costs incurred on the road to the Rio Olympics.

He spoke after Nigeria/Brazil basketball match in Rio as he reacted to complaints made by some athletes concerning their personal funds yet to be refunded.

The minister assured the athletes that none of them would leave Brazil without getting back all legitimate expenses incurred on behalf of Nigeria.

But for letting such to happen in the first place, Dalung is not the right person to inspire and lead Nigerian sportsmen and women as they seek to dominate the world by exploiting their talent to the fullest.

How in hell could a small and poorer black country like Jamaica be doing better than the most populous black nation in the world in athletics? The answer is simple: It is because of how we treat our athletes and because of people like Dalung, who should have no business with sports in the first place.
