Etebo banged in four goals against Japan in the group opener
Nigeria’s U-23 goal-machine, Oghenekaro Etebo, has expressed his disappointment over his unavailability for today’s semi-final clash against Germany.
He also missed the 2-0 quarter-final win over Denmark due to an injury he picked up against Colombia in the last group match. But the ruthless finisher hopes to be fit for the gold medal match should the Dream Team VI qualify.
“It hurts the player to sit out without participating against a team like Germany. But the doctor has told him he won’t be fit for the Wednesday match. The player has told some of his colleagues it pains him to miss both the quarter-final and now the semi-final too,” a team official told AfricanFootball.com
“He said he would be in full prayers to support his team to achieve victory.
“Etebo is very sure that his guys will beat Germany in the semi-final.
“He is also hoping to get back to action in the final.”
Etebo was a four-goal hero in the opening group match against Japan.
