Usain Bolt threw his arm to the ground in disgust and disappointment after winning 200m gold in 19.78sec
Jamaica’s Usian Bolt has just won the 200m sprint in Rio to win his 8th Olympics gold medal and move a step further to an unprecedented triple, triple. Running in lane six, the 100m Olympics champion posted a time of 19.78 to beat rising star, Andre de Grasse of Canada to second place. France’s Christophe Lemaitre settled for bronze.
It fell short of his world record, which Bolt had set his eyes on. He had aimed to run the 200m under 19 seconds and he showed his frustration and disappointment after failing in his mission as he crossed the finish-line.
However, he secured a historic sprint-double for the third time in a row. He became the first man in history to win both 100m and 200m titles at three consecutive Olympics.
