
A prominent Port Harcourt -based Rights lawyer, Ken Atsuwete was assassinated on Monday morning by unknown gunmen.
Atsuwete, an Itsekiti from Delta State, was killed at his house in Aluu, near the University of Port Harcourt.
His corpse has been deposited at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital morgue.
Atswuete was one of the legal representatives of the APC and in matters involving their members.
He was also handling the murder trial of an APC stalwart and former Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government area, Ojukaye Flag-Amachree.
He had intensely condemned in the media the court order obtained by the PDP stopping the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, from declaring the March 19 re-run election in Tai and seven other Local government areas in Rivers state.
