Paris Saint-Germain defender David Luiz has undergone a medical at Chelsea ahead of a shock return to Stamford Bridge.
However both clubs are still thrashing out the fee in their bid to finalise a transfer-deadline deal.. It is understood that Chelsea has offered £34million but PSG is still foot-dragging, having bought the 29-year-old two years ago from the Blues for £50million, a record still for a defender.
After failing to sign AC Milan’s Alessio Romagnoli and Kalidou Koulibaly of Napoli, new manager, Antonio Conte, desperate for a centre-back, went for Luiz whose heart had not departed the Bridge.
