Chelsea’s roving midfielder, N’Golo Kante has revealed how he turned down Jose Mourinho’s lure to join Manchester United before he joined the Blues in a 32million switch.
Kante disclosed how received personal phone call from Mourinho only weeks after helping Leicester win their first Premier League title.
“It was amazing to have Mourinho call me even though I had been warned before how he woud appeal to me,” Kante said.
“I listened to his arguments about why I should move to United.
“But at that time I was hesistant between staying at Leicester or leaving for Chelsea.
“My discussions with them were already well underway. But when I spoke, I had a good feeling with Conte.”
Chelsea have won all three of their league matches, with Kante playing full 90 minutes in each game.
