Super Eagles Coach Rohr Wants Enyeama Back

New Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, has said he wants Vincent Enyeama back in the team. Rohr revealed this yesterday in Uyo as the Eagles prepare to take on the Taifa Stars of Tanzania on Saturday in an African Nations Cup qualifier.

The Lille goalkeeper had announced his international retirement last year, following an ego-clash with former coach, Sunday Oliseh, which saw him being stripped of the captaincy.

But Rohr has been keeping an eye on Enyeama, who has been in fantastic form in the French Lique 1. And he simply wants the 34-year-old back.

“I asked about Enyeama when I signed because I know his qualities,” Rohr told media ahead of Tanzania’s game.

“I also spoke with the goalkeepers’ coach Alloy Agu and he spoke highly of him. I’ve called and spoken with Enyeama since my resumption but nothing is settled yet.

“I will see him after the Tanzania game because I saw him play in France and he’s the kind of player we need to help us move forward.”
