The head of the Ibru family and chairman of the Ibru organization, Olorogun Michael Ibru is dead. He was aged 86.
He died after a protracted illness in Florida in the United States, family sources said.
Ibru, the Otota of Agbarha-Otor kingdom, was born in 1930. He began his career as a management trainee with UAC and later founded the Ibru Organisation, a conglomerate with interests in brewing, fishing and palm oil production, among others in the 50s.
His younger brother, Felix, the first democratically elected Governor of Delta State, died about seven months ago.
