VIDEO: Granit Xhaka Opens Arsenal Account With Magnificent Strike

Midfielder Granit Xhaka opened his Arsenal account with a magnificent long-range strike in his side’s 4-1 thrashing of Hull on Saturday.

Xhaka signed from Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer but had started on the bench for the third successive time. When he eventually came on he showed why Arsenal paid big to have him with a his long distance missile that finally sunk Hull.

It was his first goal since joining the Gunners.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said after his team’s third pemiership victory after a shaky start to the season that his side are gaining in confidence after losing to Liverpool and drawing at Leicester.

“We are a bit more mature,” he told Sky Sports. “But it’s early in the season. Let’s just continue to improve and win our games and see where that will go.

“We are ambitious and have a good attitude and spirit. We have gained a bit of confidence from winning a few games.”
