Jose Mourinho has replied his critics with a 4-1 emphatic win over champions Leicester City in a lunch-time kick-off played at Old Trafford.

With England striker, Wayne Rooney left out of the starting eleven, defender Chris Smalling calmed nerves when he nodded Manchester United into the lead with only twenty-two minutes played. Fifteen minutes later, Juan Mata made it 2-0 with a shot into the low right-corner, finishing off a superb teamwork initiated by Paul Pogba. While promising Marcus Rashford scored his third goal in three games when he made it 3-0 with a close range tap-in three minutes later as fans were still savouring Mata’s goal.

World most expensive player, Pogba who played his best game in Man Utd jersey, scored his first goal for the club with a brilliant header off a corner in the 42nd minute.

United came back after the break administering only their lead. But Demarai Gray pulled one back for Leicester with a magnificent strike on the hour mark to awaken an unfocused Red Devils.

After that, the visitors rarely troubled the home side and they held on till the end.

The victory, which is United’s first league win in a month has relaunched them back into reckoning for the league title.
