BREAKING NEWS: Clinton Floors Trump In First Presidential Debate

during the Presidential Debate at Hofstra University on September 26, 2016 in Hempstead, New York. The first of four debates for the 2016 Election, three Presidential and one Vice Presidential, is moderated by NBC's Lester Holt.

Democratic Party presidential candidate, Senator Hilary Clinton has floored her Republican opponent Donald Trump in the first presidential debate held at Hofstra University New York.

She succeeded in x-raying to the American people that Trump is Trump – a man who has a casual relationship with the truth. The Republican candidate looked embarrassingly unprepared and his inexperience was so glaring as Clinton controlled the debate over jobs, taxes, race relations and bitherism.

Noteworthy was Trump’s condescending behaviour as he frequently interrupted Clinton instead of waiting for his time to speak. This would be seen as disrespectful, especially to the first female presidential candidate in the history of American politics.

Most times he will not answer the question asked, instead he beat the bushes. His greatest blunder was when he questioned Secretary Clinton’s stamina as he was asked to say what he meant when he said his opponent did not looked like a president after she won the democratic ticket. Trump tried to deny by saying that what he meant was rather her stamina to be commander-in-chief. But Clinton reminded him how she travelled over 100 countries as secretary of state, negotiating deals and how she spent eleven hours at the Congress as lawmakers digged into the email scandal. She ended by taunting him: “then talk to me about stamina”.

Before the debate Trump had the momentum which saw the election become a dead heat, that is talking about the popular vote anyway. However, Hilary’s brilliance at the first debate must have changed that. She looked more presidential, the candidate with better vision, judgement and temperament. Talking about temperament, Clinton told Americans that a man like Trump who could easily be angered by Iranians taunting American sailors, should not have his fingers near the nuclear code.

Clinton landed the knock-out punch was when she said, “..yes I’m prepared for this debate and I’m prepared to be president.” Conversely, her opponent looked very unprepared and failed to show he has the mastery of the basics needed to be president.

The democratic candidate also battered Trump on his refusal to release his tax returns, saying that it meant he has something to hide.

She also exposed Trump as a man who does not honour his obligation towards others, especially refusing to reward fairly those who have worked hard for him – trying to say that a man who cheated his way up should not be president.

Clinton likewise painted her challenger as a racist, who made it a policy in his property business, not to lease houses to African Americans. She slammed him by reminding him how she called a female winner of a beauty contest Miss Housekeeping, simply because she is Latino.

A CNN poll conducted immediately after the debate also confirmed that Clinton won the debate by a wide margin of 62-27.
