Godwin Obaseki, Edo Governor-Elect
Checkpointcharley can now declare that the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Mr. Godwin Obaseki is set to be declared the winner of the Edo Governorship Election held on Wednesday.
With results from only one local government remaining, the APC is too wide ahead.
The result of Ovia South West is yet to be announced. INEC officials are waiting for the return of officials who supervised elections in the area.
With the results of 17 local governments announced so far, the APC garnered 306,663 votes while the PDP has 244,363 votes.
Meanwhile, the PDP is crying foul and has rejected the results. The party’s chairman, Dan Orbi, said that the results were fabricated and predetermined.
