
The four pupils, teacher and vice-principal of Lagos State Junior Model College, Igbonla, Epe, who were kidnapped by gunmen six days ago, have regained their freedom.
The Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command confirmed the release on its Twitter page. It said “the victims were all hale and hearty.”
Checkpointcharley understands they were freed around 11pm on Tuesday. Apart from the family of the schoolboy that fell sick in captivity, who paid a ransom of N1m on Tuesday afternoon, other families had not paid any ransom.
The pupils, teacher and vice-principal were abducted on Thursday morning when the gunmen invaded their school. The victims were identified as Isaac Adebisi, Okonkwo Emmanuel, Abu, and Jeremiah; the English Language /Civic Education teacher, Lukman Oyerinde and the Vice-Principal, A.O Oyesola.
