President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to his wife’s threat in an interview with the BBC that she would not back him for a second term unless he shakes up his government by saying that his wife belongs to his kitchen and living room.
The President said this in a joint press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel after a lunch meeting in Berlin. When asked to comment on his wife’s threat, he responded: “I don’t know which party my wife belongs to, what I know is that she belongs to my kitchen, the living room and other room.
Buhari added that he has more experience than his wife in politics, having been vying for Nigeria’s top job for 12 years until he eventually made it. Buhari said he can not exclude totally the Opposition and those that did not support him.
His comments shocked his host, who is the world’s most powerful woman. It also left the audience, which included Yours Sincerely, Checkpointcharley in disbelief.
