Former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, has ended his self-imposed exile  as he returned to Nigeria from his base in the United States to honour the invitation of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over alleged N4.75bn arms funds traced to him.

Obanikoro arrived in Lagos aboard a KLM flight and headed for Abuja to meet up with the commission’s invitation on Monday.

A company, owned by Obanikoro’s sons, Sylvan McNamara, is under EFCC’s microscope for allegedly receiving N4.75bn arms funds from the office of the former National Security Adviser between April 4, 2014, and December 15, 2014.

EFCC alleged that N4.745bn was paid into a Diamond Bank account of Sylvan McNamara during the above stated period. The commission boasts that it has evidence to substantiate its claim.
