President Muhammadu Buhari has approved, on the recommendation of the National Judicial Council, the appointment of two more justices for the Supreme Court, Nigeria’s highest court. The two are Justices Ejembi Eko and Amina A. Augie.
Mr. Soji Oye, acting Director of Information for the NJC, in a statement said the two justices will be sworn in by the Chief Justice of Nigeria and Chairman of the National Judicial Council, Mahmud Mohammed, on Monday at 2.00 p.m. at the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
Recall that Buhari had on October 11 requested the Senate to confirm the nominations of two judges as Justices of the Supreme Court – Justices Sidi Bage, Nasarawa State, North Central, and Paul Jauro, Taraba State, North East.
