One Adisa Olayide has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly raping his 12-year-old daughter, the police command’s public relations officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi said on Saturday.
Oyeyemi said the 45-year-old committed the offence in Ilaro Town of the state and was arrested following a complaint lodged by the victim after she had cried to the police station to report her father.
“The suspect was arrested on Wednesday 16th of November following a complaint from the daughter,” he said.
The police spokesman disclosed that the victim’s mother had died, and her father had remarried to three women.
“Upon her complaint, the Divisional Police Officer Ilaro Division detailed police detectives to effect the arrest of the suspect,” he said.
According to him investigation is still ongoing.
