Real Madrid star striker Cristiano Ronaldo was on Monday named winner of the Ballon d’Or for the fourth time, organisers France Football said.
The 31-year-old Portuguese won the Champions League with Real and European Championships with his country, Portugal.
He now dethrones his rival Lionel Messi of Barcelona as world best player.
Liberia’s George Weah is the only African to have won the award.
