Boko Haram Fighters Kill Another Nigerian Army Lt. Colonel

Another senior Nigerian Army officer has been killed by suspected Boko Haram fighters.

Lieutenant Colonel O. Umusu, Commanding Officer of the 118 Task Force Battalion in Borno State, was killed alongside his security details, by an Improvised Explosive Device in an ambush Monday evening.

The officer and his men were returning from Maiduguri to their location in Baga when they were ambushed between Sari and Gudumbali.

Their remains were evacuated to 7 Division Medical Services and Hospital, sources told Premium Times.

He is the fourth lieutenant colonel of the Nigerian Army killed by Boko Haram militants in two months.
