Mr. Ademola is one of the judges arrested by operatives of the State Security Service in a midnight raid on October 8 on allegations of corruption.
The couple were arraigned before Justice Jude Okeke.
After their arraignment, Justice Ademola’s lawyer, Dr. Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), and another lawyer representing the wife of the judge, informed the court that they had filed their applications for bail.
The prosecuting counsel, Mr. Segun Jegede, said he would not oppose the bail applictions but he asked the presiding judge to impose terms and conditions that would ensure that the defendants made themselves available for trial..
Jegede also asked the court to order the defendants to drop their passports and other travel documents with the registrar of the court.
The judge is about to rule on the bail conditions as at the time of filing this report. The defendants would be admitted to bail. What remains to be determined are the terms of their bail.
