A bizzarre telephone conversation alleged to have taken place between the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike and some official of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has been leaked by Sahara Reporters.
The audio shows Wike attempting to rig the recently concluded legislative rerun in the oil-rich state.
The governor is heard threatening to collect his money back from an INEC official, who was backing out of the plan. Wike is heard vowing, at least thrice, to kill the official if he tried it.
An INEC official confirmed that most of the electoral officers who took part in the Rivers rerun, were drafted from Plateau and Oyo States.
