
The former Adamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako has failed in his bid to return to office as Nigeria’s apex court, Supreme Court disagreed with his application for reinstatement.
Mr. Nyako had asked to be reinstated after the Court of Appeal declared his impeachment by the Adamawa House of Assembly as illegal.
The Supreme Court was of the view that Nyako had removed the plea for reinstatement from his claims at the Court of Appeal and cannot ask for same on appeal.
The former was ejected from on July 15, 2014, after 17 of 25 members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly adopted a report of a panel set up to investigate him for alleged corruption.
The report had found him guilty of all the 16 allegations of gross misconduct.
