
Nigeria have dropped to 51st position in the latest FIFA Rankings, which were released on Thursday.
But the Super Eagles retained their eighth position in Africa.
Algeria (38) and Cameroon (65), who are Super Eagles’ opponents in Group B of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, retained their previous spots in the world. However another group opponent, Zambia, climbed three spots to place 88th in the world rankings.
Senegal and Ivory Coast maintained their first and second positions on the continent. They are ranked 33rd and 34th in the world respectively.
