The 22-year-old Cameroonian, Joel Ludgo, who killed his boss, Miss Temidayo Adeleke, did so in a desperate push to send money to his girlfriend in Cameroon. This was revealed by the Lagos State Police Command on Saturday.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos, Ms. Dolapo Badmos, said the suspect is making useful confessions to detectives at the state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba.
According to her, Ludguo had adamantly requested to be paid his December salary, so he could send the money to his girlfriend. An altercation ensued, so the eventual killing.
Ludguo had lived with the victim, whose marriage was slated for early 2017.
Badmos stated that Ludguo would be charged with murder among other charges, upon the completion of investigation.
