Valencia sporting director, Jesus Garcia Pitarch, has held talks with unsettled Nigerian captain, John Mikel Obi and offered the Chelsea midfielder a chance to revive his career at Valencia.
Mikel Obi, who will become a free agent in summer, has not played any game under new manager, Antonio Conte.
But there is a possibility that the London club may allow him leave during the January window if he decides to take the offer.
Garcia Pitarch said, as reported in Superdeporte: “In the case of Obi Mikel, with Chelsea’s permission, I met with him in London on Christmas day.
“I informed him of the option [of joining Valencia]. He said he would think about it.”
Valencia are fighting to avoid relegation and are currently 17th in La Liga.
