Former first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan has confirmed that police searched her family house on Igbeti Rock Street, Maitama, Abuja but found nothing incriminating.

Mrs Jonathan, who spoke through her lawyer, Mr. Charles Ogboli, however said three bank cheques, including one from Diamond bank and a company iron seal were taken away. Ogboli explained that the company is unknown to her client as she was not living there.

She described it as embarrassing that the Police will search her house in her absence. She explained that the House was bought for siblings and wondered why security agencies will keep raiding the place. Mrs Jonathan stated that since November 2016, the EFCC, NDLEA and now the Police have invaded the place. “I don’t know what they are looking for?”

Interesting when Mr. Ocholi got to the house after he was alerted about the raid, the leader of the team, an ACP, known as Williams, told him that actually they came to the area to search the house of a judge but they decided to search the house due to “the attitude” of Mrs Jonathan’s security men.

When the lawyer demanded to know from which police command they are from, Williams told him that they were from the IGF’s Special Unit. But another operative quickly intervened by saying that they were from the Attorney General AGF’s Office.

Ocholi said that the policemen forced the door open and searched everything but at the end they asked a security man to sign that nothing incriminating was found.
