The Chinese government is already seeking ways to slam a limit to Super League spending, it appears Mikel made his move at the right time.

Mikel joined Chelsea as a 19-year-old from Norwegian Premier League side Lyn in 2006. But has been an outcast under Antonio Conte this season. He said that playing time was a factor in his decision to move on.

Mikel is the second Chelsea player to move to the Chinese Super League in recent weeks following Oscar’s transfer to Shanghai SIPG.
