Former governor of Abia State, Mr. Orji Uzor Kalu has said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is the only path that leads to Igbo presidency. He claimed that an Igbo man can only emerge Nigeria’s president if he joined APC.
Kalu said this while speaking to some political office holders, who served under his administration at his Igbere country home in Bende Local Government Area.
He beckoned on Igbos to join the APC to ensure it wins the entire South East zone in the 2019 general elections.
Kalu made it clear that the APC was not a Hausa party, adding that it also does not belong to President Muhammadu Buhari.
“Let me tell you this clearly, APC is not an Hausa party as they have been deceiving the people. APC is not owned by President Muhammadu Buhari; the possibility of an Igbo man becoming the president of this country is clearer in APC than in any other party including the PDP.
“When we formed the PDP, some people were saying it was a Hausa party as they are saying of APC now, but it was the same PDP that produced former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan who are southerners.”
It is widely believed that Kalu joined the APC in order to realise his presidential ambition.
