Serena Williams has sounded a note of warning of her intention to win her 23rd grand slam title with a 6-2, 6-3 (straight sets) demolition of in-form Johanna Konta of Britain to join sister Venus in the semi finals of the Australian Open for the 12 time in her illustrious career.
It is her tenth consecutive Aussie semi final. It was a demonstration of dominance in a game Serena controlled against Konta who never lost a set on her way to the quarter final. But against Serena, the English player who was the best player on the tour in 2017 had no answer. And at the end, what was supposed to be a close match, turned out to be a tutorial for Konta.
There is now a possibility of all Williams final in this year’s Australian Open.
