
36-year-old Venus Williams of the United States beat Coco Vandeweghe 6-7, 6-2, 6-3 to reach the final of this year’s Australian Open.
Venus who stormed back to the top ten in 2014 after a four years breaks, becomes the oldes player since Martina Navratilova in 1994 to reach the finals of a Grand Slam.
She now has the possibility of facing sister, Serena in another sister act, who plays Mirjana Lucic-Baroni of Croatia later in the day. That would be 17 years after the first sister act.
Venus lost the final of the 2003 Australian Open against her sister, Serena. Venus last played a grand slam final in Wimbledon in 2009.
