Intense fighting between Yoruba and Hausa communities in Sabo area of Ile- Ife in Osun state has claimed five people.
Eye witness confirmed the deaths in the on-going fight on Wednesday.
Soldiers and police men have been drafted to the area to calm the situation.
The clash was reportedly sparked by a disagreement between two Yoruba and Hausa traders on Tuesday, which resulted in a fight, an eye witness said.
Shootings have been heard and shops and properties have been burned.
