President Muhammadu Buhari, who returned to Nigeria on Friday after 49 days medical absence, said he will leave Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo in charge for the time being and he will not immediately resume power.
The 74-year-old Buhari said Osinbajo “will continue” in the role of acting-president “and I will continue to rest,” Buhari admitted. Undisclosed is how long Osinbajo would be in charge.
The president returned to the country 49 days after he left on a medical vacation to the United Kingdom.
Before he left, he transferred powers to his Vice, Osinbajo, who has earned the admiration of Nigerians on how he has handled the job.
