Another Fuel Subsidy Fraud Suspect Bags 10 Years Jail Sentence

Justice Lateefa Okunnu of the Lagos High Court has convicted Rowaye Jubril and his company, Brila Energy Ltd, on 13 counts of fuel subsidy fraud, sentencing Jibril to 10 years in prison.

The judge also ordered his comapny to refund N963.7 million to the federal government.

The defendants were arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in November 2012 alleging their involvement in fuel subsidy fraud.

Recall that the judge had earlier convicted and sentenced Walter Wagbatsoma, Adaoha Ugo-Nnadi and their firm, Ontario Oil and Gas for fuel subsidy scam.
