President Muhammadu Buhari has forwarded the names of two new ministerial nominees to the Senate for confirmation.
CHECKPOINTCHARLEY was reliably informed by a National Assembly source that the letter got to the Senate on Tuesday evening.
The two nominees are from Kogi and Gombe state, the source said.
The Kogi nominee would replace the late Minister of State for Labour, Barr. James Ocholi while the nominee from Gombe would fill the space left by former Minister for Environment Ms Amina Mohammed who is now serving in the United Nations as a deputy Secretary General.
The list is being sent to the Senate at a time the relationship between the upper house and the presidency is not good. Recall that on Tuesday the red chamber gave Mr. Buhari an ultimatum of two weeks to sack the acting Chairman of EFCC, Mr. Ibrahim Magu.
The Senate on Wednesday acknowledged receipt of names of two President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministerial nominees from Kogi and Gombe States.
Those forwarded by Mr. President which was announced on the floor by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki are Prof. Stephen Ocheni from Kogi State and Suleiman Zanna Hassan from Gombe State.
