Real Madrid super-star Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player to score 100 European goals as Real Madrid downed Bayern Munich 2-1 in the Champions League quarter-final first leg on Wednesday at the Allianz Arena, Munich.
Bayern’s Chile international Arturo Vidal nodded Bayern into a 26th-minute lead but then missed a crucial penalty just before half-time. Ronaldo grabbed the equaliser two minutes into the second half, scoring his 99th European goal and then his 100th in the 77th minute as he finally beat Bayern keeper with a clever tap in after he had thwarted some of his efforts at getting the winner for Real.
Elsewhere in Madrid, French international Antoine Griezmann 28th minute penalty to beat Leicester 1-0.
