Buhari Rewarding Fulani Herdsmen With Appointments – Fani-Kayode

Chief Fani-Kayode

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has been fiercely criticized by one of the country’s most vocal voices, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode – a former aviation minister – for rewarding Fulani herdsmen with government appointments. In a Facebook post Friday morning, Fani-Kayode knocked Buhari for using his government to favour his northern kinsmen.

The former spokesman of the Pressident Goodluck Jonathan Campaign failed to understand why the president decided to appoint in one day only northerners as Acting Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Acting Director General of National Intelligent Agency and Managing Director of NEXIM Bank.

Mr. Fani-Kayode restated his earlier position that Buhari was only rewarding Fulani herdsmen for butchering Nigerians.

He wrote: “Three major appointments were announced yesterday. Acting SGF, Acting DG NIA and MD NEXIM Bank. All three went to Hausa-Fulanis.

“Meanwhile a few days ago Buhari rewarded the Fulani militants and herdsmen for butchering Nigerians by appointing their official spokesman as the Secretary of the Federal Character Commission.”

President Buhari had in a famous inauguration speech said that belonged no one, but belongs to everybody. Unfortunately, his lopsided appointments so far has shown that he belongs to someone.
