
The people of Ebonyi State have rejected the direction the APC government of President Muhammadu Buhari is taking the country in the local government election held across the state last Saturday as the opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) won all the 13 Chairmanship and 171 Councilorship positions in the state.
The Election was held in the entire 13 local Government Areas and the 171 Wards in the State.
Announcing the result at the Commission headquarters Abakaliki on Sunday, Chairman of the Commission, Barr Jossy Eze said the PDP won all the 13 Chairmanship seats and all the 171 Councilorship wards in the State.
“The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) won the entire Chairmanship/Councillorship seats in Abakaliki, Afikpo North, Afikpo South, Ishielu, Ikwo, Ivo, Izzi, Ohaukwu, Ohaozara, Onicha, Ebonyi , Ezza North, and Ezza South local Government Areas respectively,” he announced.
With the economy in recession and the Naira at an all-time low, majority of Nigerians are going through hard times unparalleled since the civil war.
