President Buhari
Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Muhammed on Wednesday invariably confirmed speculations that President Muhammadu Buhari’s health condition is a source of concern when he said the president will henceforth work from home.
Mr. Mohammed confirmed this at the end of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa Abuja.
The fact that Mr. Buhari would be working from home as claimed simply means that his health condition has not improved. It is unprecedented in the history of Nigeria that a president would be working from the confines of his home.
According to Mohammed, all files and documents relating to the governance of Nigeria are to be taken to the president’s home for approval.
President Buhari was again on Tuesday absent at FEC meeting. This is the third time he would be absent at the meeting within a month
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo presided over Teusday’s’s weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council at the Aso Chambers, State House, Abuja.
The information minister said Mr. Buhari needed some rest and has asked that all the files on his table be brought to him at his official residence at the Presidential Villa, Abuja for treatment.
Recall that Punch correspondent at the Villa, Olalekan Adetayo was expelled following his story on Buhari’s incapacitation. He was expelled by the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to President Buhari, Bashir Abubakar but was later cleared to return by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, confirmed the recall of the reporter.
The true state of President Buhari’s health had remained uncertain as many Nigerians believe that the Presidency have not put all its card on the table respecting the matter.
It is widely speculated that the presidency has been hijacked by a cabal.
Since Buhari returned to the country after his medical pilgrimage to the United Kingdom, he has been rarely seen in public. Unlike when Vice President Yemi Osinbajo acted in his absence. Osinbajo traversed the country within a short period more than all the national travels Buhari has made in his presidency put together.
