Mrs. Promise Obinna, the Mbaitoli woman who ran away after bathing an eleven year old girl , Chika Nkwazema with hot water, has been arrested by the police in Imo State. The woman, who had vanished with her family after her dastard act, had allegedly poured hot water on the primary six schoolgirl on Saturday at Mbieri in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of the State.
The victim had suffered severe injuries to her laps, breasts, hands, face and buttocks as a result. She and her siblings had reportedly engaged Mrs. Obinna’s children in normal children fights before their mother bathed her with hot water.
Chika’s mother, Mrs Ngozi Nkwazema, after seeing what the woman did to her child, went to the Orie Mbieri Police Station to report the incident but before she could return to the compound with some policemen, the woman, her husband, Obinna, who is a Keke driver, and their three children had packed their bags and fled.
As at the time of filing this report, Chika is still hospitalized at the children ward of the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri. She told Southern City from her hospital bed that Mrs Obinna deliberately poured the hot water on her body.
She described her neighbour’s act was wicked and said that it was only God who saved her from death.
Imo state Police spokesperson, Andrew Enwerem confirmed Mrs. Obinna’s arrest.
