
The Nigerian Senat on Thursday adjourned plenary and commenced a three weeks recess to enable members commemorate the 2nd anniversary of the 8th Assembly and celebrate the Eid-El-Fitri festival. On June 9th, both houses of the 8th National Assembly had marked the 2nd anniversary, with past presiding officers and leaders of political parties in attendance.
Muslims worldwide are expected to celebrate the feast of Eid-El-Fitri on 25th and 26th June 2017.
After session on Thursday, Senate Leader, Ahmed Lawan moved for an adjournment which was seconded by the Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio.
Consequently, the Senate adjourned sitting till Tuesday, 4th July, 2017.
