Arrested billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudi Onwuamadike, aka Evans, on Sunday revealed that at a point he lavished a whooping N93million on luxury cars and SUVs. Evans “the terrible” disclosed this as he led the police to two of the three camps on Jakande Estate, Ejigbo, and the New Igando, both in Lagos State, where he kept his victims. He however denied owning a car called Fathom, as being bandied around.

He said, “The vehicles I owned were a Toyotal Hilux and a Nissan pickup that I bought for N7m; Lexus GS460, which I bought for N22m; 2016 Range Rover, which cost me N55m, and Lexus GL47 that was bought for N9m,” he said.

Despite owing these vehicles, Evans said that he did not enjoy the money made from kidnapping because he was dodging arrest by policemen and was always on the move.

Of the two detention facilities, the Ejigbo detention camp is located on Green Street, Jakande Estate, while the other is at 21 Prophet Asaye Close, New Igando. On other camp could not be visited on Sunday, but said to be located on Gowon Estate, in the Egbeda area of Lagos State.

Evans and six of his gang members, Nwosu Chukwuma, aka Sudo, 42, Suoyo Paul aka Nwana, 42, Felix Chinemerem, 36, Chukwuemeka Bosah, 28, Uchechukwu Amadi and Ogechi Amadi were arrested on Staurday, June 10 at his Magodo GRA mansion Lagos after after fierce gun battle with the Joint Special Forces led by the Intelligence Response Team (IRT), the Lagos State Police Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit and Technical and Intelligent Unit of the Force under the supervision of the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State.

As he continues to sing, he told operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team that he rented the Jakande Estate detention camp in 2010.

Evans said, “I have just three camps in Lagos where I kept some of the victims I kidnapped.

“One of them is this house on Jakande Estate; the others are in the New Igando and on Gowon Estate. I paid N750,000 per annum for this flat (Jakande)then.

“I don’t come to the camps, I have my boys on the ground and they give me information on a daily basis.

“One of the victims I kept here (Jakande) is one Udoji, who I collected $1m from. Another one, Emesbos, paid me $300,000, while one, whose name I can’t remember, paid $250,000.

“Whenever the pressure from the police is much, I usually move my victims to another camp.”

According to him, the house in New Igando has two different flats, which he said he rented for N1million per annum.

Two of his victims, Chief Umeh, the phamarcist, and Chief Donatus Duru were held in the house before he was nabbed by the police

“We demanded €1m from Duru’s family, but they paid N100m and promised to bring

the rest.

“When I collected the money, I told my boys to release the man, but they flouted my order. By then, policemen were after me.”
