Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has asked club decision makers to stop dreaming of Cristiano Ronaldo, rather they should smash the world transfer record and get him Tottenham hotshot, Harry Kane. This desire for Kane, who has won the Premier League’s top scorer award for the last two seasons, would cost United about £100million, should Spurs take the unlikely decision of letting go their goal-guarantee.
It is understood that Mourinho wants to pair the England striker with Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata in his attack next season, as he looks to make an impact in the Premier League and Champions League next season.
Meanwhile, Man Utd will be having more talks with Real Madrid as they push for a deal to sign the Spanish international striker.
Concerning Kane, Tottenham say they will not listen to any bids for their star player. However, it is unlikely that they would continue to maintain that stand in the event of a record breaking huge bid. That would surely make chairman Daniel Levy want to have a conversation.
Apart from the duo, Mourinho is also urging his club to finalise the deal for Inter Milan midfielder Ivan Perisic.
While Man Utd attempt to strenghten their squad, bitter rivals Arsenal are bidding to weaken it as manager, Arsene Wenger, has placed Manchester United striker, Anthony Martial, on his wish list.
According to Sportsmail, Wenger would move for Martial, should he lose out to Real Madrid for Europe’s hottest forward, Kylian Mbappe of Monaco.
Wenger reportedly is prepared to pay up to £40 million for Martial, who fell out of favour at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho last season. He had started fewer than half of United’s Premier League games.
But it seems that the Frenchman knows that Mourinho would never agree to a deal, because of their historic personality clash. Nevertheless, it would be foolish to refuse such a bid for a player that is no longer so important in his plans.
